Performing repetitive packaging process with manpower is a low-efficiency working method since it is an error-prone and boring process. The use of robots is increasing rapidly in order to ensure standardization for placing the products coming out of the production line in boxes and parcels.
Working simultaneously with the production lines, packaging robots may detect products coming irregularly and disorderly with barcode, QR code, sensor or camera and they may package them quickly and accurately.
Taking up less space than packaging machines, packing robots ensure improvement in residential areas and provides an opportunity for a systematic and proper operation. Standing out with their speed and flexibility when compared to manual and traditional packaging systems, packing robots ensure that production lines operate at full capacity and significantly increase production efficiency.
All requests and demands of the customer are collected for the transition to robotic packaging system and the following steps are followed:
- The compatibility of the products to be packed is checked for the transition to the robotic system.
- Packaging robot is determined which has suitable cycle times, speed, reach and load capacity for process, through analyzing the parts on the simulation which to be packed.
- If more than one packaging robot is required to package the products, the system is set up with a line-shaped stations.
- Gripper equipments are selected to be suitable for packaging work that will provide the highest efficiency.
- Electricity, automation and plc infrastructure is created according to the project scope.
- Upon request, the entire system is provided in the packaging cabinet or a cell.
- The suitability of the designed system is finalized as a result of the studies conducted with the customer, and the system is formed into its general shape.
- The prepared system is equipped with compatible equipment for occupational health and safety and then it is commissioned.
- After the completion of commissioning process, the system is maintained through after-sales services.
