Being the cutting process in conductive materials thanks to the direct current power source ionizing the compressed air and turning it into plasma, plasma cutting technology is an increasing application with its ease of use, high quality precision cutting surface and fast cutting capability.
Being much more economical than laser cutting application for operation and ease of use, plasma technology may be used for operations such as drilling holes, marking, any 2D and 3D surface cutting operations with a robot equipped with plasma equipment.
Providing advantages such as superior cutting technology, minimum operating costs, and long working life, plasma cutting technology provides quality results in cutting normal sheet metal, stainless sheet and aluminum sheets of different thicknesses, and adds efficiency to the processes. Nickel alloys, bronze, copper, tungsten, cast iron, zirconium and titanium materials are also cut with the plasma arc.
All requests and demands of the customer are collected for the transition to robotic plasma cutting system and the following steps are followed:
- The compatibility of the parts to be cut is checked for the transition to the robotic system.
- Plasma cutting robot is determined which has suitable cycle times, speed and reach for process, through analyzing the parts on the simulation which to be cut.
- If more than one plasma cutting robot is required to cut the parts, the system is set up with a line-shaped stations.
- A plasma cutting machine is selected to be suitable for plasma cutting work that will provide the highest efficiency.
- In addition to the main equipments, other peripheral equipment such as plasma cutting torch are used.
- Electricity, automation and plc infrastructure is created according to the project scope.
- Upon request, the entire system is provided in the plasma cutting cabinet or a cell.
- The suitability of the designed system is finalized as a result of the studies conducted with the customer, and the system is formed into its general shape.
- The prepared system is equipped with compatible equipment for occupational health and safety and then it is commissioned.
- After the completion of commissioning process, the system is maintained through after-sales services.
