Integration of press brakes used in bending, pressing and curling sheets with industrial robots adds speed and flexibility to production and increases efficiency. With this feature, robotic press brake feeding systems are a successful robotic automation applications for lower cycle time and high quality.

The ability of robots to work within the press brake area provides high safety for operators and eliminates the injury risk associated with the machine. In robotic press brake feeding systems, a work accident that may be experienced by operators due to repetitive heavy load carrying works is also prevented.

The robots work with feedback and perform the right action at the right time thanks to the communication infrastructure with the press brakes. Thus, the quality increases in production and waste reduces.

Feeding especially large-surface and heavy parts by robots will provide a significant advantage in production. On the other hand, there will be a decrease in operating costs and production time of the part for small and sensitive parts thanks to error-free repeatability.

All requests and demands of the customer are collected for the transition to robotic press brake feeding system and the following steps are followed:

  • The compatibility of the part to be bent is checked for the transition to the robotic system.
  • Press brake tending robot is determined which has suitable cycle times, speed, reach and load capacity for process, through analyzing the parts on the simulation which to be bent.
  • If more than one press brake tending robot is required to bend the parts, the system is set up with a line-shaped stations.
  • Gripping and centering equipments are selected to be suitable for bend work that will provide the highest efficiency.
  • Electricity, automation and plc infrastructure is created according to the project scope.
  • The suitability of the designed system is finalized as a result of the studies conducted with the customer, and the system is formed into its general shape.
  • The prepared system is equipped with compatible equipment for occupational health and safety and then it is commissioned.
  • After the completion of commissioning process, the system is maintained through after-sales services.
